Hendon Semiconductors covers a wide range of different integrated circuits to suit different market areas such as data interface, domestic home applicances and personal care appliances.

Hendon Semiconductors products mainly focus on thermostatic control, mains operated controls including data interface in 2-wire bus system.

Below details the different product categories.

bus buffer for 2-wire bus system

Hendon Semiconductors have been a long established supplier of bus buffer integrated circuits for I2CTM, 2-Wire, SMBusTM, PMBusTM and AccessBus markets.

We now have a range of high performance bus buffer integrated circuits to suit a wide range of existing and developing applications where bus-buffering requirements are more demanding.

The range consists of I2C compliant dual bi-directional bus buffers with or without hot insertion logic and a range of simple 2-wire bus buffer.

More information is available from our official Bus Buffer website at www.bus-buffer.com

I2CTM is a trademark of Philips Semiconductors Corporation now NXP
SMBusTM and PMBusTM are trademarks of System Management Interface Forum (SMIF) Inc

mains relay switching and contact protection

Mains relays expected performance and lifetime are often limited due to arcing at relay contacts. The implementation of effective contact protection extends both mains relay reliability, and operational reliability of the circuit in which it operates.

The first product in this family, IES5541A, relay driver with contact protection, guarantees longer relay life, higher switching rates and significantly lower EMI interference. The IES5541A provides effective arc suppression solution in a wide range of mains relay switching applications where either sensing or logic driven inputs are used.

temperature control

This family presents a range of zero crossing triac control integrated circuits designed for various heating/cooling operations with a single or multiple feedback control. Choose from either a simple ON/OFF or proportional controller integrated circuits to meet your thermostatic needs. These integrated circuits require only low external component count and have wide operating temperature control range.

Ideal to be used with mains heating element for heating or cooling operations in home kitchen appliances such as electric frypans, oven, toasters, kettles and including irons where cost and board space are an issue.

In particular the OM1654A and IES5521A is well suited for the hair styling tools application. It features simple zero crossing triac triggering with minimal external components; ideal for small board space in hair straighteners and curling irons. Additional features such as time out timer as safety feature is also available in some integrated circuits.

Proven easy solutions with millions sold annually.

power and mains phase control

IES5528, phase control and triac triggering integrated circuit is designed for various mains power control applications including phase control, soft start for motor / power speed control and time proportional temperature control

The IES5528 superceeds the OM5428 and like the OM5428 offers similar features as the now obsolete TCA280B.

IES5528 is designed for uses with modern high reliability, high sensitivity three-quadrants or snubberless triacs such as in the NXP Semiconductor range.

LED driver

Light Emitting Diode (LED) driver integrated circuit, able to operate from a single AA battery (1.2V) and driving up to 250mA LED load current, via a boost mode application. A simple LED drive solution providing one of the most cost effective, high efficiency light control applications available.

Ideal for torch lights, mobile or any other applications requiring the use of single cell battery.
