IES5528 phase control and triac triggering circuit
The IES5528 phase control and triac triggering IC is a pin for pin replacement for the superceeded OM5428. The external configurability of the IES5528 makes it suitable for a wide variety of mains power control applications. It can be configured as a soft start motor controller to eliminate the effect of motor high starting torque. The IES5528 can also be used in an on/off switching application that switches at mains zero crossing to minimise RF interference and mains transients. Other feature of the IES5528 includes time proportional control that provides more accurate temperature control by avoiding temperature overshoot that is apparent in basic on/off control. The IES5528 is the ideal solution for the industrial and home appliances motor control where low cost and ease of speed control are essential.
